2. Choose a carrier oil

To get the best results from your essential oil concoction, it is important that you choose the right carrier oil. Some of the most popular carrier oils used for mixing are coconut oil, neem oil, grapeseed oil and jojoba oil.

In order for the carrier base (or carrier oil) to work effectively with the essential oil, it has to be mixed properly without any chemical reactions.

This means that the carrier base should be free from any chemicals or additives that may damage your hair.

3. Dilute the oil

Diluting the oil is a very important step in mixing essential oils for hair growth. The reason why it’s important is because it allows more of the oil’s properties to be absorbed by your skin and scalp.

The more diluted an oil is, the more effective it will be when applied topically on your scalp and hair.

4. Take only a small amount of carrier oil

Once you have chosen your carrier oil, make sure that you take a small amount of it into a cup or bowl and add enough water so that there are just two fingers worth of liquid in there at all times during mixing.

Add your chosen essential oil and stir well until completely dissolved before taking another bit of water into the mixture.

Repeat this process until all the water has been added and mixed well with your chosen essential oils. This will ensure that there are no lumps left behind when you pour out onto your hair.

5. Add other ingredients

After adding a carrier oil, you can add other natural ingredient such as beeswax, jojoba wax or vitamin E as a base for your mixture.

This is if you want your mixture to stay solid at room temperature, meaning it won’t become liquid when applied directly onto your scalp.

However, if you want your mixture to become liquefied at room temperature, then choose a carrier oil that’s solid at room temperature such as sweet almond oil.
